One of the ingredients we use in Brain Toniq is a phospholipid called A-Glyceryl Phosphoryl Choline, a compound found naturally in the human brain. Known also by its nickname A-GPC, this choline is one of the building blocks needed to produce the main memory neurotransmitter of our brains, called acetylcholine. Since the mid-90s, A-GPC has been used throughout Europe and Asia for memory, cognitive health, and focus. However, it has also being used in studies for people suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's.

Recently in 2007, a published paper came out of the Journal of Neurological Sciences that showed just how powerful this A-GPC may be for helping our mind. The paper compared the current most popular Alzheimer's pharmaceutical drug of choice —called cholinesterase inhibitors—with A-GPC. The study shows that supplementing with A-GPC was more effective for Alzheimer's disease than cholinesterase inhibitors (aka donepezil -- trade name Aricept).

In addition, the study states that A-GPC offers better cognitive benefits than CDP-choline (citicoline), another form of choline available in supplement form.

Note that the study uses the European name for A-GPC, which is Choline Alphoscerate. In other words A-Glyceryl Phosphoryl Choline = Choline Alphoscerate. Got it? And yes, this will be on the test later on.
